Intellectual Property Rights, Licensing Terms, and Open-Access Archival Framework of Jurnal Pembangunan Kota Tangerang (JPKT)

Open Knowledge & Public Policy Dissemination Commitment

Jurnal Pembangunan Kota Tangerang (JPKT), published by the Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) of Tangerang City, operates as a fully open-access academic journal. To accelerate the exchange of scientific knowledge, evidence-based public policymaking, and urban governance innovation, JPKT upholds the principle that authors retain unencumbered intellectual property rights over their scholarly work while granting the public barrier-free access to read, download, and utilize the research for educational and developmental advancements.

1. Copyright Retention & Rights Granted

A. Author Retains Copyright Without Restrictions

Authors who publish in JPKT retain full copyright of their articles without restrictions. Authors do not transfer or surrender their copyright to the journal or the publisher. Authors hold the perpetual right to use, reuse, expand, adapt, and distribute their published work in institutional repositories, educational curricula, professional anthologies, and book chapters, provided proper bibliographic attribution to the original publication in JPKT is explicitly provided.

B. First Publication & Dissemination Rights Granted to JPKT

In exchange for publishing services, copyediting, layout production, metadata curation, and permanent digital archiving, the author grants BAPPEDA Kota Tangerang as the publisher:

  • A non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, index, and distribute the definitive Version of Record (VoR) in electronic format.
  • The right of first formal publication of the manuscript, identifying JPKT as the original scientific publishing venue.
  • The mandate to deposit digital full-texts and metadata in domestic and international preservation networks (e.g., PKP PN, Garuda, Crossref DOI).
